"Helping To Save One Youth At a Time!"

Embracing Hearts

The Embracing Hearts Program is for women from the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility. It is the female equivalent to the Alpha Program.

It is a 13 week course taking place on Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The next set of courses will begin in late August 2015.

The Alpha Leadership Program is for males from the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility. This course requires its students to give presentations, learn to prioritize and set goals, give back to the community, and forgiveness of self and others. These skills will help these young men rehabilitate as they when they are abruptly released into the overwhelming world.

It is a 13 week course taking place on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The next set of courses will begin in late August 2015.

Even after the students graduate from the program, WOSMOH hosts quarterly reunions. In this way, WOSMOH keeps checking on its graduated youth, giving additional, help if needed.

Alpha Leadership Program

This series of classes is for local group homes in Ventura County. Leading the classes is Cheyenne Summers, an extraordinary and hard working former foster youth. Other keynote speakers come to help mentor the youth and teach them the resourcefulness, resiliency, and leadership skills that they will need when they are emancipated from the group homes and become independent adults. The classes also include snacks and painting, a helpful way of expression.

The classes take place on Mondays, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the WOSMOH office.

The next classes begin on June 27th, 2015. Please RSVP by June 20th.
